Matt Arnold
Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University in 1990, and his Juris Doctorate from
Matt currently is general legal counsel to a national non-profit corporation whose focus is to provide assistance to low-income and first-time home buyers. In that capacity, he provides counsel on a range of corporate issues, as well as advice on HUD, RESPA, and FCRA compliance issues. Matt also serves as general counsel for a consumer credit counseling and credit score optimization company that assists consumers in correcting erroneous entries on their personal credit reports. He prepares all consumer contracts and disclosures and reviews all website content for compliance with federal laws, including the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and state counterparts. Matt also has conducted an independent state-by-state survey of legal requirements for business licensing and bonding purposes. He also participates on a daily basis in analyzing credit reports and FICO scores and advising clients in resolving credit and collection disputes.
Matt obtained his FCRA Certification from the Consumer Data Industry Association, and has participated in intensive credit expert training conducted by CreditCRM and John Ulzheimer, a nationally known consumer credit expert. He is admitted to practice law in the States of Indiana and Ohio (inactive), the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of Ohio and the Northern District of Indiana.
